Puppy!
Wes and I recently purchased a new puppy. He is the cutest little thing I have ever seen. He is a miniature schnauzer, but his fur is similar to a fluffy dog. He loves my mom and dad's new puppy Barney, and also loves playing with his much bigger brother Moose. His name is Max and he is 2 months old.

Rangers Game
On Labor Day, Wes and I with my parents went to the Rangers v Mariners baseball game. I love going to baseball games and eating all the junk they so eagerly supply. We were lucky to use Quicksilver tickets so we were on the 3rd row from the field. Sadly the Rangers lost, but it was still fun to scream and cheer. We were excited to see Nolan Ryan, he now owns the Rangers. (Sorry about all of the slides, we just figured out how to do them).
The Real Deal
I have been promising photos of the house so here they are. We are really looking forward to the house being completed so we can moving in; we are getting close. Wes and I went to the design center last week and made some changes to the finishing touches such as changing all of the fixtures to rubbed oil bronze (I hate when they mix finishes). We also changed the granite, tile, and carpet color. We were glad to purchase the house in time to make some changes, I am pretty picky! It is fun to watch it all build up, some days we go out there and are amazed at how different it looks after one days work.

Update from Texas!
Hi Everyone...wow has it been awhile. We have been so busy getting settled we haven't had a lot of time to blog. Wes is enjoying his new job, he is learning a lot! I have officially completed the first week of my job, and am glad to be done with the majority of training. We just signed to go under contract on our home tonight after a long search for the right one! Our home is under construction and schedule to be complete in the middle of September. We love the neighborhood and can't wait to move into it. We will take pictures of the house when it is complete, but for now here is the sketch and floorplan. Ours is slightly different because it has rock on the entrance pillars and on the bottom of the home.
Other highlights since we have come to Texas: Going to the Rangers v Yankees game viewing baseball legends in action. We also enjoyed a day at Six Flags, it was really hot but still fun. We have found some great restaurants and look forward to finding more.
We will update everyone about the status of our home. We are excited for the cabinets to go in on Friday. If I remember I will take pictures.

Texas - A State or a Culture?
As many know, Wes and I are moving to Texas on Monday, July 7th. It feels like we have been waiting forever to leave, but it also feels like the end is sneaking up on us quickly. We are rushing to finish our packing, closing on our house, training the people who are replacing us in our jobs, and looking for homes on the internet. We are really excited about the great opportunity Texas holds for us, but a little scared and nervous because it is a big change. Growing up in Colorado, I have never lived out of the mountains or in humidity. Wes, however, grew up in Illinois and knows what the weather feels like minus the extreme winters. Texas is also closer to both of our parents and will hopefully make it a little easier to visit everyone we want to see.
It is funny when you tell people you are moving to Texas, most think of west Texas. A lot of people don't know that many parts of Texas are green and beautiful. There also seems to be a reaction to the word Texan in general, we are immediately being branded with the big star. The parts of Texas that I have visited I found to be wonderful and a place I would enjoy being. Wes has made it clear, however, that he refuses to ever be a cowboys fan.
Wes is really excited to start his new job; he looks forward to getting settled into a career. We will let you know when we get a house and what it looks like!

Payson Canyon
Wes and I want to make sure that we get everything we love about Utah in before we move to Texas. We are really excited to move to Texas, but there are a few things we will miss. Anyways...anyone who knows me knows that I am not much of an outdoorsy kind of girl. I try really hard because Wes loves to camp, so we compromised by just going up for the evening and doing a campfire, tin foil dinner, and smores.
I guess because I am not accustomed to roughing it, I was unprepared. I figured since we weren't hiking I would just wear my flip flops. I quickly regretted it when I was stung by a bee within the first 10 minutes at our campsite. That was the only bad thing that happened up there; we really enjoyed the whole experience. Moose absolutely loved being up in the mountains, he was running all over the place, eating the bugs, stealing the logs from Wes, and playing in the flowers. Wes and Moose are really close friends, you can see the two hanging out together in a few of the pictures.
The area was really beautiful and we hope to go back before we leave.

Bags! Bags! and more Bags!
Can I just say that I absolutely love handbags. They are the perfect accessory to every outfit and they are funtional. A handbag is also necessary to carry all that stuff that girls carry. I just found the best website for handbags! It has so many cute bags I have had a hard time narrowing it down to one that I want to purchase. This website has become my favorite place! Check out http://www.baghaus.com/. To the left is a taste of what lies ahead!

Christmas! New Years!
Well it is nearing the middle of January and it feels like the Christmas madness is finally starting to slow down. Wes and I had a great Christmas here in Utah with some of my family and Wes' brother. I was so excited for Christmas this year I started listening to the music early and I did all my shopping early. I found that is the best way to prepare because people get even more crazy the closer to Christmas. We dared to enter the mall on Christmas eve and learned never to do that again. What I enjoyed most about Christmas was going to the movies. Throughout the holidays I think we went to see about four movies.
Then came the new year; Wes and I spent it together at home and had fun eating a lot of junk and toasting in the new year. Our new years resolution lists are very long, but it will be fun trying to complete them. I look forward to 2008, I am done with college, Wes will get very close to done, moose will turn one in February, and our lives will change a lot.
Wes got the computer game Medieval Total War II from Beau. He loves the game and has been wanting if for a long time.
