It's Official!

It is official, I am now a Scentsy Rep! I learned about the Scentsy products many years ago, and always thought about signing up as a rep simply because I personally love the products so much. I finally signed up and am having so much fun with the 80+ scents and cute warmers! I was not able to find anything to make my whole home smell good until I tried Scentsy. Plus...there is no fire! The warmers are 100% safe and never get warm enough to start fires or burn little fingers. A woman I know has actually tried to set a fire with it to simply prove that it won't. She was unsuccessful at starting a fire. She also shared with me that they are allowed for teachers to have them in their rooms because they are so safe. Let me know if you are interested in ordering some, if you simply want to look at a few (I have warmers and plug ins), or if you just want to sit down and smell 80 scents. Some People Are So Creative...

I just wanted to share a cute trick I happened upon while I was browsing from site to site. I love the idea of changing a scarf into a belt, and it looks super cute on. Check out the step by step tutorial here of how to tie your scarf/belt.

I can't wait to try this!

New Project!

I have recently become obsessed with the shabby chic/french provincial/french country style (they all seem to yield similar results). I decided I wanted to find a piece of furniture I saw a lot of potential in, and create this style myself. I have watched craigslist often to find this special piece, and I finally found it this weekend. I was so excited when I found it because it is unique, beautiful, and cheap. The woman I purchased it from thought it didn't have any value, but it is around 60 years old, solid wood, and dove-tailed. It was a dream come true! Wes and I contacted her and drove to a small town called Krum, TX, and picked up our treasure. She only wanted $50. Here is my new project...

Isn't it beautiful? I am planning on finishing it out to look similar to this:

I am not promising any timeline, but I will post pics as soon as it is done.

Max Turns 1!

On Sunday Max celebrated his 1st birthday. He is such a big boy, and we love him so very much. Max received a new doggie bed, and some yummy chew snacks. He also got to play with my parents dog, Barney, and eat a lot of people food courtesy of my mom. We can't believe how long he has been in our little family, we are so grateful for him. He constantly brightens our lives. Our little blue family at my parents house. I love that Max raised his ears for the picture!Isn't he the most precious thing ever! He melts my heart everytime he gives me this look.Max with his partner in crime Barney. They always get in trouble when they are together.

The Rocky Road to Paradise

Well...we are back from our wonderful vacation, and it was amazing; however, it was a rocky road to get there. We woke up early the morning of Friday the 14th to avoid rush hour through Dallas. As we are crossing through Louisiana we noticed the car was acting funny. We tried everything from putting the top grade of gas in to adding a cleaner to the fuel, but the problem was not going away. As we crossed into Mississippi we noticed that not only was the problem not going away, but it was getting worse. Wes finally decided that we better find a Nissan dealer in the area to look at our car. We found one in Jackson, MS and headed there to get the verdict. After waiting for a little over an hour in their nasty waiting room, some start to our vacation, the damaged was assessed. The transmission was shot and it would cost around $6,000-$7,000 to fix it. Well if that isn't a vacation killer, I don't know what is. Luckily, we remembered that we purchased an extended warranty. We have been thanking our lucky stars ever since then. The dealer called the warranty, and they said they would send an inspector out Monday to decide if they were going to pay for it or not. Our moods were a little dampened, but we decided to rent a car and continue with our vacation while everything was worked out in Mississippi. We headed to Mobile, Alabama to stay for a couple of nights. We viewed the most beautiful plantation homes and ate the greatest sea food at this ugly shack right on the Gulf called Felix's. From there we ended our journey in Pensacola Beach, Florida. It was absolutely beautiful with pure white beaches and blue water. We enjoyed walking the beach, boogie boarding, body surfing, and all the wonderful things to do at the beach. While we were in Pensacola we heard back from the inspector and the warranty was going to fix our car, YAY! Because our car was in the shop, we had extend our stay at the beach:) We ate the most amazing crab legs in Pensacola at a restaurant there! We drove back to Jackson, MS, stayed the night, and picked our practically new car up to head home. To cap off the most interesting vacation of my life, we stopped in Vicksburg, MS to tour the civil war battlefield. It was an amazing vacation, and man am I grateful we purchased that extended warranty. All in all, the warranty has paid over $7K for the new transmission, our rental car, and reimbursement for added vacation expenses. We also got 2 extra days added to our vacation, and a great story! We will definitely be doing this again, minus the transmission thing.

Bikini Body Adventure

Wes and I have finally planned our vacation to go to Panama City Beach, Florida. We are so excited we can barely function with our day-to-day activities. We frequently remind eachother of how many days are left until we hit the road; in fact, yesterday hit the month mark. Neither one of us have ever been to Florida, so this is truely an adventure for us. We plan to take road trip and follow the coast for a portion of the trip. When we get there we just want to relax and enjoy the view. We are staying in a resort that has private boat rides out to shell island, beach volleyball, and many other exciting activities.
....................................................................................................
There is one problem, however, with the whole vacation: I have to get into a swimming suit. So, I am determined to whip my body in shape so I can confidently take the step out onto the beach and not feel like everyone is looking at my love handles. Wes and I have started swimming laps every other day, and man is that a fun, but hard work-out. We have also committed to eachother to go to the gym more regularly to expedite the weight loss and body toning, and last to improve our eating habits. We aren't the worst eaters, but there are definately areas for improvement. I am 100% committed to this transformation, and will let you know how it goes and if I meet my goals by the time I leave.

We Love Summer!

Wow, it has been such a long time since we added a new post to our blog! I have a hard time coming up with things to talk about. This summer has been wonderful with tons of family coming to visit, swimming, and spending time together. We have learned more about Fort Worth from viewing the attractions with family then we knew before they came to visit.

This was the first time for me to see a longhorn close up. They are such interesting animals, they walk funny because their horns are so heavy.

Here are the boys playing with Jeff and Jo's kids in the Stockyards. Isn't Wes super cute:)

We have really enjoyed swimming in our community pool, I am impressed with how nice it is. It has a lot of places for little kids to play in! Wes and I have started going there in the evenings to work out. I am not a good swimmer, it about kills me to swim laps.

We have loved spending time together. With my new job I set my own hours; many days I am off by 4 so we can spend more time together in the evenings. This picture was at Joe's Crab Shack on my birthday. We love their crab legs.

I recently cut all my hair off, but I don't have a picture of it yet. I will try to get one posted soon. I know we have been horrible bloggers, and will try really hard to be consistant and post more often.
